The Greensboro City Council announced Friday it approved hiring Nathaniel "Trey" Davis as the new city manager.
Davis will succeed Interim City Manager Chris Wilson, who has served in the role since the abrupt resignation of Taiwo Jaiyeoba earlier this year.
Davis has been an assistant city manager since 2019. He previously served as a patrol officer in the Greensboro Police Department.
Throughout his tenure with the department, he held a variety of roles including commander of the Office of Community Engagement and the Criminal Investigations Division.
Davis earned his Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Arts degree from Liberty University.
