Risant Health, a nonprofit based in Washington, D.C., has completed its acquisition of Greensboro's Cone Health.
The new relationship follows a signed agreement between the two organizations earlier this year that included no purchase value or exchange of money.
According to a release, operations will not be interrupted and will remain almost entirely unchanged. Cone Health will retain its name and brand.
Leadership, including its board of trustees and chief executive officer, will also remain in their roles.
Per the agreement, the acquisition will not affect Cone’s network of health care providers and insurance relationships.
Cone Health has more than 13,000 employees and operates dozens of medical facilities, including one of the state’s largest, The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
In the joint news release, the two organizations announced a focus on expanding value-based care in the Triad.
As opposed to more traditional fee-for-service models, value-based care emphasizes patient experience and quality of care.
