New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the state is deploying teams to check for proof that travelers getting off flights have completed forms before leaving airports across the state.

On Sunday, the state saw 853 hospitalizations because of the coronavirus, which was the lowest since March 18. Also, only 391 people tested positive of more than 46,000 people tested that day.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has approved changes that have been vehemently opposed by police unions for years — including allowing the public to access police officers' past disciplinary records.

Gov. Cuomo says the number of new coronavirus hospitalizations reported on June 1 was 154. That's the lowest number since the state started counting in mid-March.

The state first allowed up to 10 people at religious services and Memorial Day events. Then, after a lawsuit, New York expanded the order — but Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the suit didn't affect the move.

In an "unprecedented step," New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Saturday that every car in the city's subway system will get a thorough cleaning — and urged residents to keep up their social distancing.

The group is asking federal and state governments to release pregnant inmates who are close to completing their prison sentences.

Cuomo said at their White House meeting Trump committed to procure more testing supplies from China and other overseas manufacturers. He said they agreed the Navy ship Comfort could leave New York.

And despite his combative tone on Monday, President Trump on Tuesday afternoon said he would be making decisions about how to reopen the economy in consultation with governors.

Bill de Blasio and Andrew Cuomo both point to signs of good news in the coronavirus data, but say that restrictions on nonessential workers and businesses must continue.
