Prime Minister Says France Faces 'Unprecedented Terrorist Threat'

The French prime minister said Thursday that security forces have prevented six terrorist attacks in France over the last few months. Police say an attack Sunday on a church outside Paris was only averted because the alleged assailant shot himself by accident.

Giovanni Lo Porto, Slain Italian Aid Worker, Loved Pakistan And Its People

Lo Porto was kidnapped in January 2012 soon after he returned to work in Pakistan. President Obama announced Thursday that the Italian aid worker was inadvertently killed in January in a U.S. strike.

The headquarters of Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt. Germany's largest bank has been hit with a $2.5 billion fine for manipulating a key interest rate. Seven other banks in various countries have also been fined in the far-reaching scandal.

At least 29 employees of Deutsche Bank are thought to have participated in manipulating the LIBOR benchmark interest rate from 2005-2009. The lender also pleaded guilty to U.S. criminal charges.
