Forsyth County Board of Commissioners

The race for the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners is a crowded one this year, with a total of nine candidates vying for seats. 

The microtransit program aims in part to provide reliable transportation to county residents pursuing jobs outside of the county's urban centers.

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools is requesting an additional $27 million from the school capital project’s budget in order to fund the construction of a new Brunson Elementary. County commissioners will vote on the matter on Thursday. 

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners met last week to hear from several organizations regarding an increase in youth violence.  According to officials with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, there were nearly 1,500 complaints this year to the Forsyth County Juvenile Court.

Forsyth County officials are no longer considering Tanglewood Park for a multiuse agricultural event center.
