Large Objects Found In Java Sea Believed To Be AirAsia Jet

Bad weather continues to hamper the search for bodies, but the chief search official says a remotely operated vehicle has found parts of the missing jet that crashed last Sunday.

An Indonesian police officer in Kumai port in Pangkalan Bun carries part of a plane found floating on the water near the site where AirAsia Flight 8501 disappeared on Sunday.

A Break In Weather Allows Search For AirAsia Jet To Resume

Blue skies and calmer seas mean divers can enter the water to look for bodies. Also a source close to the investigation says radar shows the jet climbed steeply before crashing into the Java Sea.

As the search for the missing airliner entered its second day, Indonesia's vice president said he feared the worst. Authorities said, the search are would be expanded on Tuesday.

Apple Responds To BBC On Conditions At Asian iPhone Suppliers

Jeff Williams, the tech giant's vice president for operations, told British-based employees that Apple has done more than any other company to ensure fair and safe working conditions.

Only some of these officers, seen in Banda Aceh, Indonesia, on Jan. 13, are exempt from a "virginity test." Human Rights Watch wants Indonesia to scrap the practice for its female police recruits.
