Lunar eclipse

The third in a set of four lunar eclipses that began a year ago and will finish in late September could be seen from the U.S. East Coast to Asia.

Weather permitting, a "blood moon" eclipse — the penultimate in a four-eclipse cycle — can be seen in its totality by those living on the U.S West Coast.

The total lunar eclipse today that could be seen over North America and across the Asia-Pacific region had the added feature of a reddish hue caused by sunlight filtered through Earth's atmosphere.

Weather permitting, on Wednesday morning you'll be able to see the second lunar eclipse visible in North America in a series of four that runs through next year.
