Seven Veterans Affairs staffers have died from the virus, and unions for VA workers have been sounding the alarm about shortages of protective gear and insufficient staffing.

In a press conference Saturday, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced 200 new COVID-19 deaths, bringing the state's death toll to 846.

Phil Murphy says he asked for 2,500, but has so far received only 850. And of those, some "were not at the level they needed to be."

The community of Lakewood is experiencing a very high rate of infections as well. Police have broken up numerous gatherings recently, despite a stay-at-home order from the governor.

The president's decision came hours after floating the possibility that he would issue quarantines for the hard-hit states. The CDC later advised residents against non-essential travel for 14 days.

The charges could bring more than six years in state prison and thousands of dollars in fines for George Falcone. He has denied the accusations.

"Workers' performance and workers' dedication to the company were secondary. Now, they'll be moved more to the forefront," state Sen. Joe Cryan, a co-sponsor of the bill, said.

"These are residents ... have been needlessly prevented from having a voice in the future direction of their communities," Gov. Phil Murphy said.

New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said investigators believe the deadly attacks were "potential acts of terrorism." Meanwhile, members of the Jewish community mourned their lost neighbors.
