1 Day, 40 Boats, Thousands Of People Rescued Trying To Get To Europe

In 24 hours, the Italian navy and aid groups rescued 6,500 people from wooden and rubber boats off the coast of Libya. The migrants did not have enough fuel to reach Europe.

In 'Long War,' Iraq And Afghanistan Vets And Refugees Tell Their Stories

A new play written by a former army infantry officer tells the stories of veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and refugees from those countries. The actors are those vets and refugees.

Beh paw Gaw is a New Roots graduate and a Karen refugee from Myanmar. Now she has her own three acre farm which she runs with her sister Pay lay, who is also a graduate of the New Roots program.
