Rafaela Silva grew up in a favela known as the "City of God," about 5 miles from where the competition took place in Rio. She and her sister took up judo to defend themselves and stay out of trouble.

Morghan King set a new U.S. record in one of her events, but finished sixth in her weight class on the first day of Rio's Olympic Games. Now that she's finished her Olympic competition, she plans to do some sightseeing and cheer on her fellow athletes.

Decorated Race Car Driver Bryan Clauson, 27, Dies After Weekend Crash

Clauson, who won four United States Auto Club national championships, was driving in a race Saturday when his car made contact with another and flipped. His car was then hit by an oncoming car.
