Toyota is donating $1 million for local science and technology education programs as the company makes plans for its electric vehicle battery plant in Randolph County.

Last December, Governor Roy Cooper announced plans for the arrival of Toyota's lithium battery plant to the Triad, and along with it, thousands of good-paying transportation jobs.
After years of planning and development by the Greensboro-Randolph Megasite Foundation, Piedmont Triad International Airport, and other local leaders, the hard work is bearing fruit.
Some 1,700 transportation jobs are coming to the Piedmont courtesy of Toyota.
