Tulsa officials said at least 12 coffins were discovered over four days of digging in the city-owned Oaklawn Cemetery. More tests need to be conducted to determine if remains are massacre victims.

As many as 300 Black residents were killed during the Tulsa race massacre. Researchers conducted another excavation in July but found no evidence of human remains at the first site.

As many as 300 African American residents were slaughtered when white mobs descended on Tulsa's Greenwood district nearly a century ago. The lead plaintiff is a 105-year-old survivor of the massacre.

Tulsa officials began a test excavation to determine if land on in city-owned Oaklawn Cemetery is the site of a mass grave of victims of the race massacre. Most of the victims have never been found.

Amid slumping poll numbers, the president delivered a dark message, trying to tie Democratic opponent Joe Biden to the extreme left. Trump's campaign promised a massive crowd, but didn't deliver.

The event is moving ahead as scheduled. None of the staffers who tested positive for the virus or anyone who was in immediate contact with them will attend.

The lawsuit says the rally, which is to take place at a 19,000-seat indoor arena, could act as a superspreader event for the coronavirus.

"I'm as confident as I can be in the results that this is a very big candidate for something associated with the massacre," a senior researcher at the Oklahoma Archeological Survey said on Monday.
