Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school bus drivers are continuing to protest this week due to low pay and safety concerns. Twenty-six drivers were absent Monday morning. 

Over the last few years, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office has documented roughly 300 incidents of juveniles communicating threats of violence at school. While some cases are more serious than others, each can sow fear among students and families, and greatly disrupt the work of educators.

The teachers’ lounge at a Winston-Salem elementary school got a makeover this year. Local elected officials joined school staff and volunteers to celebrate the reveal on Wednesday. 

North Forsyth High School hosted its first forum about mental health Thursday evening. Panelists included students, teachers and health leaders from local colleges.
