Crossnore Communities for Children has received a $5 million gift, the largest in the organization’s 110-year history. 

Small pro-Palestinian protests are popping up sporadically as colleges and universities hold commencement services. Among the demonstrations on Saturday were dozens of graduating students at Virginia Commonwealth University who walked out on Gov. Glenn Youngkin's address. While some of the estimated 100 students and family members who left during the Republican governor's speech showed support for Palestinians, others held signs signaling their opposition to Youngkin's education policies, according to WRIC-TV. At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a small group of demonstrators staged what appeared to be a silent protest during commencement ceremonies. A campus police spokesperson says no arrests were made. There were also protests in North Carolina and California.

Rev. William Barber II echoed concerns that measures including the photo ID requirement are targeted to weaken minority voting. 

Several state and local court officials have been removed from a federal lawsuit filed by people who allege the operation of North Carolina's new electronic courts records system contributed to their unlawful arrest or extended jail detainment. 

A likely small group of North Carolina voters will decide which Republicans will serve as the party's nominees for a congressional district seat and two statewide positions. Tuesday's GOP primary runoffs include pairs of candidates in the 13th House District and for lieutenant governor and state auditor.

Through film and an immersive experience, the Winston-Salem African American Archive, in collaboration with the UNC School of the Arts, is raising awareness about the contributions made by the city's African American residents over many generations.

Some Winston-Salem residents may soon be eligible for public funding to repair their homes.
